About DC Spurs

In 2007, long before NBC acquired the Premier League rights and matches were regularly shown on TV, a few DC-based Spurs supporters began gathering at Lucky Bar on match days hoping that the Tottenham match would make it on TV. After the creation of a Facebook group in 2010 and an increase in attendance at Lucky Bar, our founding members reached out to Tottenham to form “DC Spurs” and become an Official Supporters Club (OSC). Our membership growth quickly necessitated a home bar, leading to our eventual partnership with the Irish Channel and official status from Tottenham on September 2, 2011. Today, DC Spurs is one of the few Premier League supporters clubs in DC with a dedicated bar.

What began as a small group of friends gathering around a cell phone to follow a football match thousands of miles away has grown into one of the country’s largest Tottenham Hotspur OSCs as we continuously draw countless supporters week in and week out. Our strong membership has helped us pave the way for OSCs across the country – we traveled with 70+ members to North London during the 2022/23 season for a thrilling match against West Ham, earning us a slot on the team’s pre-match show, and were recently recognized by the club and awarded the To Care Is To Do award for the Americas for the 2023/24 season for our philanthropic efforts in the community.
