DC Spurs Announces $10,000 Donation Match in Support of DC SCORES Spring Giving Campaign

Washington, DC, May 13, 2026 — The Official Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Club of Washington, DC, known as DC Spurs, is proud to announce a donation match of up to $10,000 in support of DC SCORES and its Spring Giving campaign.

DC SCORES is a local nonprofit that provides soccer, poetry, and service-learning programs for more than 3,500 young people across the District. This spring, DC SCORES poet-athletes are representing the United States at the 2026 Street Child World Cup, an international event that brings together young people from around the world through soccer, the arts, advocacy, and community.

Through this match, DC Spurs will double gifts made to DC SCORES’ Spring Giving campaign, up to $10,000, helping support DC SCORES programming and the young people whose voices and talent are representing Washington, DC, on a global stage.

DC SCORES is DC Spurs’ official community partner, and the supporters club regularly contributes to the organization through fundraising, event proceeds, merchandise sales, and direct donations. A significant portion of the funds behind this $10,000 match came from ticket sales for DC Spurs’ group outing at the D.C. United/LAFC match in August 2026, showing how the broader local soccer community can come together across clubs and leagues to support young people in the District.

“DC Spurs has always been about not just building a community of local Tottenham fans, but also giving back to the broader DC community,” said Eric Kmetz, Treasurer of DC Spurs. “Our partnership with DC SCORES is one of the clearest ways we try to live that out. Their work gives young people a chance to build confidence, creativity, leadership, and community through soccer and poetry, and we’re proud to support them through this donation match.”

The donation match continues a long-running commitment by DC Spurs to support local philanthropic efforts. In 2024, Tottenham Hotspur recognized DC Spurs with the To Care Is To Do Award for its charitable and community work, honoring the supporters club’s efforts to use its platform to make a positive impact in the DC area.

“Soccer has the power to bring people together across neighborhoods, backgrounds, and generations,” Kmetz added. “DC SCORES shows what that looks like at its best. Their poet-athletes are not only playing the game, they are using their voices to advocate for themselves and their communities.”
